Shimla is connected with a broad gauge railway line upto Kalka and after that by a narrow line. From where a small Toy train is available.
Kalka to Shimla is 95 km and Journey time is about 6 hours, the train passes through 103 tunnels during this journey.

Distance between Chandigarh to Shimla is 117 km, Distance between Manali to Shimla is 260 km, Shimla to Chail is 45 km, Distance Between Dharamshal to Shimla is 270 Kms, and Distance Between Delhi to Shimla is 370 km the driving time is about eight hours.
From Delhi, Manali and Chandigarh, luxury coaches, Volvo Buses and taxis are available for Shimla.
